Trivia Night Rules
Each team will consist of no more than 3 members, including the team captain, who is the designated team scribe.
All questions have been selected from documented, verifiable sources. Questions will be either free response or multiple answer. All questions are worth the same amount of points.
There are 7 (seven) questions per round. Each team will answer all 7 (seven) questions in the round and will be awarded points for each correct answer. Teams will not be eliminated during the round for an incorrect answer. In the event of a tie, a tie breaker question will be asked. In the event of a second tie, a second tie breaker question will be asked and Dustin will judge the outcome.
Each round will include questions from the following categories:
Arts & Entertainment
Current Events
History
Local People, Places & Events
Sports
Science & NatureThere are no cell phones or other electronic devices allowed on stage (you will be able to check them in during your time on stage or leave them with a friend).
Team members may collaborate on the answer. The team captain will legibly print the answer to read.
Each team can use a "Freebie" or a "Pinch Hitter" if someone from the audience or the team has purchased the item. Freebies and Pinch Hitters are only allowed during qualification rounds and not in the championship round. Only 1 (one) Freebie and 1 (one) Pinch Hitter may be purchased for each team.
The Freebie can be used after the question has been asked, but cannot be applied to a previously asked question.
The Pinch Hitter must be called upon after the category of the question is announced, but cannot be used once the question has been asked.
At the end of each round, the top 2 teams with the most correct answers will advance to the Hayden Homes Championship Round.
The team with the most correct answers at the end of the Championship Round will be the winner of Trivia Night 2023! They will be presented with the coveted trophy and their names will be forever inscribed on the base of it.
