WHAT IS OUR MISSION?

OUR PURPOSE

The Simple Good is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to connect the meaning of 'good' from around the world to empower youth to become positive activists through art and discussion.

WHAT IS OUR STORY?

OUR JOURNEY

The Simple Good (TSG) serves as a reminder that the smallest act of kindness can profoundly impact the world. When our #FearlessFounder, Priya Shah started her photo blog "The Simple Good", she had never imagined that it would lead her to create the only SEL-based Visual Arts Program that services youth in the country. A space initially created to share all the hope Priya witnessed in the world during her global volunteer work had gone viral in a matter of a week. Photo submissions served as an expression of each individual's 'simple good'. Every submission of good served as a ripple effect, culminating waves of people across the globe willing to share their own meaning 'the simple good'. Ten years later, the TSG ripple effect is becoming an outright movement consisting of 500+ of artists worldwide and 49+ community and corporate partners, that have come together to amplify hope for all of us in order to create more peaceful and just communities. TSG's mission was written with global impact in mind. With over 6,500 students impacted globally and increased demand for our programming, Chicago is only one of the many communities we are being called to serve. This summer alone we are in a race to provide 400 Chicago youth summer arts programming. Don't just ride the wave, be a part of the TSG ripple effect by spreading 'the simple good' through our 8th Annual Hunt For Good Urban Art Scavenger Fundraiser. We are suiting up for a monumental wave of change.

WHAT DO WE DO?

TSG Youth Arts Programming

Through our Social Emotional Learning and Mindfulness-based Youth Arts Programming and public art projects in Chicago and beyond, we transcend the message that no matter where you go in the world, good means the same to all of us, and that is what connects us as human beings.

WHY DO WE HUNT FOR GOOD?

What HFG Means to Us

Art is our 'simple good,' it's the vehicle we use to empower our students to express themselves, develop empathy and practice mindfulness to overcome obstacles and become positive leaders in the future. No matter where we are in the world, it is vital that we remember the small things that we all have to be grateful for - our 'simple goods,' and to share them with each other to stay positive and hopeful for what lies ahead. That's why we're bringing this experience to our community to collectively remind ourselves of the 'good' that still exists.
