HOST FAMILY:

The Bland Family is hosting a charity Golf Tournament in honor of their son, Jack Bland (James Richard Bland V). Jack was born on Thanksgiving night in 2020. After numerous testing over the first 6 months of his life, Jack was diagnosed with profound hearing loss due to auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder. By the grace of god, Jack was introduced to the
Auditory-Verbal Center (AVC). The folks at AVC were able to help Jack and his parents navigate the unknown.

BENEFITTING CHARITY:

The Auditory-Verbal Center (AVC) has spent 45 years providing quality Auditory-Verbal Therapy and hearing healthcare services to families who are deaf or hard of hearing. All of their Auditory-Verbal Therapists are Speech-Language Pathologists who specialize exclusively in teaching children with hearing loss to listen and speak without the need for sign language or lip reading. They are trained to develop the listening pathways in a child's brain, laying the foundation for a lifetime of listening and speaking. They also provide intervention directly in Spanish with a bilingual therapist!
