Fine Arts at Elmbrook Schools
Each year, over 5,000 students are actively engaged in our Fine Arts programming. Our high schools' musicals are recognized as some of the best in the state, and across the District students are inspired to pursue their passions in music, theater, art, and dance performance through a wide range of co-curricular opportunities offered during the school year and throughout the summer. While many of our productions are at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield, access to high-quality sound and lighting equipment both in our schools and at the Wilson Center is lacking and limits production design and overall quality.
Recently, Elmbrook School District has launched an initiative to centralize and pool together all technical production equipment from across the District's Fine Arts programs. The Shared Technical Production Equipment program is meant to take the burden of managing complex equipment off individual programs or schools, and into the hands of trained staff and students.
Shared Technical Production Equipment
After assessing equipment throughout the district, we identified a need to replace the wireless microphones used at live events such as choir, musicals, and plays. The equipment we are looking to purchase will ensure students across the district are heard clearly, no matter the environment. Beyond our initial purchase of wireless microphones, we are looking to upgrade other technical equipment like theatrical lighting, sound mixing equipment, and mobile loudspeakers.
The School District is fortunate to have a community that has long supported the arts. In fact, we have already secured a commitment from the Elmbrook Education Foundation to assist us in raising $50,000 this year in support of high-quality production equipment. We hope to extend that goal to $80,000 with additional sponsorships and in-kind donations. We are excited about the future of Fine Arts programs in Elmbrook, and we look forward to seeing how the community can assist us in delivering the best possible Fine Arts experiences for students at Elmbrook Schools!
