What is the School of the Blessed Sacrament Gala and Auction?
This spring, the School of the Blessed Sacrament PA will host "A Spring Soirée." This fundraiser will consist of an online auction (3/13-3/19) along with an in-person cocktail party on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Proceeds from this event will be allocated toward SBS goals and ensuring delivery of an excellent education to SBS students. Thanks to past efforts, students are currently benefiting from a technology lab, renovated library space, rooftop garden, science lab, and, most importantly, state of the art safety and security systems.

What are the best items to solicit for the auction?
Tell me about corporate sponsorships.
Corporate sponsorships are very important to the success of the Gala and Auction. Reach out to your employer or other corporations for a one-time monetary donation. Sponsorship forms should be filled out and given to your child's homeroom teacher.
*Please note that sponsorship must be received by 1/25/2023 to be included on the invitation. Ad deadline is 2/10/2023.
Tell me about donations.
Each family is asked to solicit donations of goods or services valued at $100 (or more) per child. A donation form should be filled out and turned in for each donation. Donation forms and donated goods or services can be given to your child's homeroom teacher. Solicitations are accepted through 2/27/2023. Print out as necessary or pick up extra forms at the front desks at both campuses.
I don't want to ask for donations. Can I just buy a gift card and donate it?
In that case, donating directly to SBS Gala & Auction is the simplest and easiest way to support our school. However, if you have an unused or unexpired or gift certificate from a local or national business at home, you're welcome to donate it to the 2023 Auction.
I don't have time to solicit donations in person, do you have a sample solicitation email that I can use?

Aren't so many local businesses struggling? I hate to ask them for anything.
It's true, the economic environment is extremely challenging for everyone right now. Are there favorite local businesses that you'd like to see thrive? It is still worth asking. The worst they can say is no, and the best thing that can happen is that they say yes! You can remind them that the cost of donating a $50 or $100 gift card or item to our auction is probably much less than an advertising campaign that wouldn't reach such a receptive and targeted audience.
