Important information and reminders for the Fun Run/Dog Walk:

1)  Safety is our number one priority.  No streets will be closed for this, so making sure it's safe for you to cross streets in the nearby neighborhoods is the primary focus of over 50 safety volunteers.  Vehicle traffic retains the right-of-way, so please bring your game face and help make sure you, your family members, and other participants are "heads-up" and safe. Please listen and defer to our safety volunteers should a vehicle approach.

2)  This is non-competitive and untimed, solely designed as a community, friend-raising event.  The goal is to have fun, enjoy each other's company, and be great representatives of Xavier Catholic Schools to our XHS neighbors.  Please do not endanger yourself or anyone else by racing, passing, or making unsafe decisions. It might be crowded, and with no street closures, please default to "non-competitive and untimed event."

3) All participants and volunteers must stay off of private property and remain on city sidewalks or paths.  This may mean running/walking single-file, so please do so as needed.  No doubt our XHS neighbors will be watching closely, and if they come outside to see what's happening, please say hi and be the awesome Xavier reps that you already are.  Also, when sidewalks are not available, please stay to the far left side of the street, watch for vehicles, and listen for safety volunteer instructions. When on the street, single-file is preferred, with a maximum of two-across.  Please dispose of any trash only in XHS trash cans when you return to school (and not along the route or in anyone's yard).

4) Please plan to arrive at the XHS track between 9:15-9:30 so we can start promptly at 10:00.  Check-in will be at the concession stand (between the Rocky Bleier gate and the bleachers).

5) In order to participate, all participants must sign a participation waiver.  No exceptions. Minor children must have a parent or guardian sign their waiver. Waiver forms are linked to the event homepage to print and download and will also be available at check-in.

6)  Please feel free to bring a non-perishable food item or monetary donation for St. Joe's Food Pantry and drop off with one of our volunteers at the check-in table.

7)  Water and restrooms are only available at the start/finish line.  If you think you will need water along the route, please plan ahead and bring your own water bottle.  Private homes are not to be solicited for restroom use. Again, everyone's safety is our number one priority.

8)  We will have a first-aid station at the finish line as well, but please use your best judgment if you or a fellow participant are struggling.  There is no t-shirt in the world worth your well-being.

9)  Dog Walkers, there will be treats and buckets of water out for the pups at the finish line.  Your dog's interaction with humans and other dogs is your full responsibility. Period. If you are not sure how your dog will behave at this type of event or with this many people and other dogs, please leave your dog at home.  At all times, please clean up after your dog completely and dispose of any waste only in XHS trash cans and not along the route or in anyone's yard.

10)  Copies of the routes are displayed on the event homepage.  Again, this is not a competitive event, nor is it a Boston qualifier ...enjoy the day and the company!

11)  Please thank our t-shirt sponsors when you can - their generosity is very much appreciated!

13)  In the days after the event and in the hopes of continuing to improve in the future, we'd love any feedback (good or bad) you might have or hear about the event.  Thank you!

Go Hawks!
