Silent Auction Rules & Guidelines
- Items may be added or withdrawn, without notice.
- Item descriptions and estimated values have been provided by donors. All items are sold in AS IS condition.
- All sales are final. All sales are subject to the terms the donors placed on items. There will be no exchanges or refunds.
- Bidders release and hold Holy Apostles harmless from any claim arising from bidder's use of said service and/or products.
- Age restrictions may apply (on items such as liquor, gift cards to wine bars, or overnight trips).
- A valid ID may be necessary to purchase items with age restrictions.
- Winning bidders of an auctioned service must contact the donor to arrange the details.
- A winning bidder may be able to obtain an income tax deduction if the amount of the winning bid exceeds the item's fair market value. Please consult your tax advisor.
- Please keep all certificates in a secure place and note some may include expiration dates.
- The silent auction will be conducted entirely online through GiveSmart mobile bidding.
- All minimum bids and incremental increases of bidding will need to be adhered to via the GiveSmart bidding system.
- Groups close at 7:00, 7:30 and 7:45 ending with the Super Silent category closing at 9:00 p.m. One/two categories close at one time.
- No additional bids may be placed once the auction is declared closed.
- The highest qualifying bid wins the item.
- Winning bidders must pay in full the night of the event before receiving their items. Payment must be made using the GiveSmart via your phone with the credit card on file or by check made out to Holy Apostles.
- Winners must pick up their items in the checkout area by showing their payment confirmation. Items will not be released to winners until payment has been received in full.
- If present, winners must pick up all items the night of the auction, unless special arrangements are made.
- If not present, winners may pick up their items in the Holy Apostles Welcome Center after mass on 1/29/23 and during regular business hours.
Live Auction Rules & Guidelines
- The Live Auction will begin after our Fund-a-Need concludes and will continue until all items have been sold.
- Bidders shall signify their bids by raising their bidder number on the back of their programs. The auctioneer will announce the winning bidder, confirmed by a Holy Apostles auction volunteer and the winning item will be added to your GiveSmart payment upon checkout.
- The auctioneer's decision on all matters will be final.
