AUCTION
How do I bid in the auction?
- If you have not already, register your profile by clicking the "Sign In or Register" button in the top right corner of the event webpage. The auction is accessible by desktop, tablet or smartphone.
- You will need to input credit card details to bid in the live and/or silent auction. Add a credit card to your profile by clicking "My Info" in the top navigation menu. (Please note: You will not be required to use this credit card to pay for your items. See check out FAQ below.)
- Browse the auction by clicking "Items" in the top navigation menu.
- View Items by category or search by item number or name.
- Click the item of interest to view the description as well as the current bid and or price.
- Choose your bid amount from the pre-populated minimum bid or enter a higher amount. To auto bid, select AUTO BID, enter the highest amount you are willing to bid. The system will place minimum bids for you as needed until your designated amount.
- Click Bid
Please note: Bidding in the live auction is available to in-person guests only on April 14, 2022.
What is auto bid?
Auto bid allows the system to automatically bid up to a designated amount for you. The system will bid incrementally up to the amount designated as long as someone else places a bid against you. If no one bids against your auto-bid, the price remains the same.
- Click the item of interest
- Select Auto Bid
- Enter in the maximum amount you would like to bid. The system will place minimum bids for you as needed until your designated amount.
- Click Bid.
Please note: When two bids are placed for the same amount, the bid placed first based on the timestamp wins. Timestamps are set when the initial bid is placed, for auto bids this is when a maximum was set not when the system prompted the bid to win.
How will I know if I'm outbid?
You will receive a text message as soon as you are outbid. Alternatively, go to "My Activity" on the "Items" page for an overview of the status of all your lots. If you opted out of text message notifications and would like to opt back in, text scotlandgala22 to 76278.
Why are there bids with the same amount in item history?
We list competing bids of the same amount to indicate what prompted an autobid to be placed. Otherwise, it would be unclear as to why an autobid was increased.
For Example, Item 100 has a current amount of $100 and a bid increment of $50. John placed an autobid at 7:00pm with a maximum amount of $200. John is winning at $150. Jill placed a bid for $200 at 7:30pm. John's bid is increased to $200 by our system. John wins because he committed to the amount earlier than Jill. The list shows both John and Jill at $200 so we can see what prompted John's bid to increase.
When does bidding end?
The silent auction will close on Thursday, April 14 at 10:30pm Eastern. Once the auction closes, click "Pay" to review a list of the items you won before proceeding to check out.
How will I receive the items I have won?
Remote patrons will be contacted by NTSUSA on April 15 to coordinate pickup or shipping. Items will be available for pickup (by appointment) in Boston beginning Tuesday, April 19. Shipping is available to remote patrons, and shipping cost will be the responsibility of the buyer.
In-person guests should plan to take away their items on the evening of the gala. Shipping for oversized items will be available. Shipping cost will be the responsibility of the buyer.
NTSUSA cannot guarantee timely shipment of items unclaimed after the event.

Cost of shipping will be billed separately.
CHECKOUT
All in-person guests should visit the checkout station in the Main Bar to complete payment and retrieve your items.
I'm participating remotely - how can I pay for gala contributions or the items I have won?
When the auction closes on Thursday night, you will need to:
- Click on "PAY" at the top screen.
- Review the purchase summary.
- Enter a credit card or use the one on file.
- Select "Click Here to Pay".
Once payment is completed, a Red Pay Stamp appears over your transaction
What if I want to use another form of payment?
Please contact NTSUSA at 617-227-7500 or mail@ntsusa.org and we will help coordinate your payment.
What if I am unable to checkout when the auction closes?
You will receive a reminder email on Friday asking you to please finish the checkout process.
What if there is a discrepancy on my checkout screen?
DO NOT complete the checkout process and contact NTSUSA as soon as possible at 617-227-7500 and we will work with you to review and rectify any issues.
