Better Together: Classic Blends from Around the World with Shelters to Shutters and DCanter

Join DCanter - A Wine Boutique, for a one hour Valentine's Day virtual wine class.  Grab your friends, family, and loved ones and join us from the comfort of home for a fun, wine educational experience, all in support of a great cause!

This virtual event will take place on Monday, February 14th at 7:00 PM. The ticket price is for the Zoom link to the virtual class, as well as a list of suggested wines to taste with the class.

Many of us choose wine based on grape variety, knowing what we like and don't like from experience. These varieties are listed on the bottle and each one has its own unique characteristics that distinguish it from others. However, there are a few varieties that are just better together.

In the wine world, blending is an art form and a true skill of a winemaker. They take each variety and its own profile into account to produce something complex and delicious. This Valentine's Day, join Shelters to Shutters and DCanter as we take a look at some of these classic blends from around the world and better understand why they truly are better together. Why are many traditional method sparkling wines blends? What are GSM blends and why are they so common in the Rhône Valley? Why are the vineyards in Bordeaux dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon?

Proceeds will support Shelters to Shutters and the mission to provide employment and housing to individuals facing situational homelessness.
