Jerry Haas

Jerry Haas has been a devoted supporter of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt since he and his wife Joan were introduced to them through the Greenwich Catholic community, where their three children attended school. Jerry has also been active in his faith and developed a special bond with his teacher and mentor, Sister Mary Helen while attending St. Mary's of Manhasset as a 5th grader.

Jerry and Joan adopted their three children, Megan, Kerrin, and Sean. Megan was adopted through NYC's Catholic Charities. The social worker who handled their first child's adoption was Mrs. Cathy Howard. As they became more involved with the Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt, they were introduced to its Director of Development at the time, Sister Cathy Howard, the daughter of the social worker who handled Megan's adoption. Since Joan's passing in 2005, Jerry has continued to support the Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt. The couple was married for 34 years.

Jerry attended Niagara University through its ROTC program, where he first met his late wife. Jerry had a long career as a CPA and retired in 2001 as a partner at Ernst and Young, focused on the Health Care Industry. After a brief pause, he returned to work as the CFO of South Nassau Hospital. Jerry is retired for the second time and lives in Stamford, CT, with his wife, Marie.

Marie and Jerry met in 2012 and have been married for nine years. Their blended family consists of six children and six grandchildren ranging in ages from seven years to ten months. Together, they continue to support the Catholic Church through the Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt and their local parish, St. Cecelia-St. Gabriel's Church in Stamford. Both widowed and parents of three, Marie and Jerry also share their faith in common. Jerry stays active in his retirement through competing in triathlons and running competitions, always with his wife cheering him on.
