Al Fresco Affair

Special guest Dr. Kim Novick will share her insights on Indiana farms and forests as "natural climate solutions".
"Trees and agricultural crops are very efficient at removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and the notion that we can better manage our farms and fields so that they are more efficient carbon 'sponges' has growing support. Environmental groups, farmers, forest managers, bipartisan lawmakers, and Silicon Valley startups have formed an unusual coalition of stakeholders promoting the use of so-called 'natural climate solutions,' including reforestation and cover cropping, to slow the pace of climate change. In this talk, I'll offer the scientific perspective on when and where these strategies can be effective tools to slow the pace of climate change, in Indiana and beyond."
