For Next Step-A-Thon walkers:
Step 1: This is the hardest step which is to REGISTER RIGHT NOW!
Individual - Select the Individual Stepper Ticket and sign yourself up.
Step Team - Select the Step Team Ticket and enter the number of tickets needed for your team. Include yourself in the ticket count. (1) Enter your information to include shirt size, team name, and select Champion. (2) Add each team member's information to include shirt size, team name, and select Member.
Step 2: The second hardest step is to set your 'Step Goal'. Decide how many steps you are going to take during the Next Step A Thon 'event walk'. For reference, there are approximately 2000 steps in 1 mile.
Step 3: Decide when your Next Step A Thon 'event walk' will take place. The event walk can be any time between now and October 9th. Your event walk officially ends when whichever comes first; you stop walking / take a break for +2 minutes OR 11:00 AM on October 96th. All step counts must be submitted to NSC by 11:30 AM on October 9, 2021.
Step 4: Ask your family, friends, neighbors, and anyone else you know to sponsor you one (1) penny for every step you take during the event walk. You can use this form (Pledge Form) to sign sponsors up. Let them know that only steps during your 'event walk' apply to sponsored steps. Also let them know that your event walk ends when you stop walking for MORE THAN 2 Minutes or 11:00 AM on the 9th of October.
Step 5: Ask your family, friends, neighbors, and anyone else you know to also check out the event website to learn more about our mission and/or participate in the silent auction.
Step 6: Get geared up and take a 'pre-walk' selfie (or have a friend take your pic) and post it to Instagram and/or FaceBook with the hashtag: #nextstepathon and tag @nextstepclubhouse
Step 7: Start walking!!!!!
Step 8: Once you have reached your step goal OR need to take break lasting MORE THAN TWO MINUTES, STOP and record your total steps.
Step 9: Take a 'post-walk' selfie (sweat and all) and post it to Instagram and/or FaceBook with the hashtag: #nextstepathon and tag @nextstepclubhouse Then notify your step sponsors how many steps you took by 11:30 AM on the 9th.
IF you would like to be eligible to win an event award AND/OR participate in the event's post event program; you must finish your event walk by Saturday, October 9th at 11:00 AM and submit your results HERE by 11:30 AM.
Step 10: Join us in person on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11:30 AM in the First United Methodist Church's rear parking lot located just past 512 North Church St, Charlotte, 28202. Validated parking located in the parking deck off of 9th st.
