United Way

United Way of Greater Lorain County organizes and supports Community Collaboratives that help working families in poverty advance their education, income, health and basic needs. Impact Advisory Councils were formed to conduct thorough research and help identify the areas of greatest need and potential in Greater Lorain County.

Targeted outcomes will be achieved by organizing and supporting Community Collaboratives that include the people and organizations from across the community who bring the passion, expertise and resources needed to get things done.

Community Collaboratives work to ensure that our community sees measurable, life-changing impact by:

Ensuring children are prepared to succeed in kindergarten
Equipping early-adolescents with the tools and resources needed to flourish in high school and beyond
Building pathways from poverty to financial stability
Supporting effective care through integrated medical screening and support
Promoting productivity through diet and exercise
Keeping families strong by providing emergency financial assistance to people in crisis
