Do I need to register to bid in the auction?
Yes, you must register with your name, mobile number, email and create a username and password at Sanctuary.givesmart.com. Upon registration, you will receive an email confirmation from GiveSmart (no-reply@givesmart.com), our event streaming and auction platform.

Credit card information is not required to register or browse auction items but is required to make a bid in the auction or make a donation.

If you do not remember your username or password when checking on auction activity, just hit the "Forgot Password" button when signing in to reset your username or password and follow the directions.


How do I bid on an item?
First, find the item by clicking on 'Items' under the Menu tab or by clicking here. Then select the item and press the 'Bid' button and follow directions to begin bidding. You can also browse by category to start bidding.

Where are the auction items that I have bid on?
You can keep view items that you have bid on by going to the Menu tab and clicking on 'Items' and then clicking on 'My Activity'. All items you have bid on will appear so you can easily keep track of your favorite auction packages.

Can GiveSmart automatically bid for me?
To keep you from being outbid too often, you can set an Auto Bid when placing your bid for an auction item. When you've been outbid, GiveSmart will automatically bid on your behalf up to the Max Bid amount you set using the bid increments provided. The automated bidding system does the work for you to keep increasing your bid against other individuals.

How can I check to see if I am outbid? 
You will receive a text message when you have been outbid and alternately, navigate to the "Your Activity" tab on the webpage to check the status of your bids. Keep an eye on your favorite items!

What does it mean if an item is marked as "No Bids?"
An item marked as "No Bids" means that the item currently has no users bidding on the item and it is open for bidding. 

When will I be charged?
Your credit card will be charged if you win an auction item at the conclusion of the auction or immediately if you make a donation to Sanctuary for Families.

How do I receive an item I won?
You will be contacted via email with instructions on how to redeem your item in the days following the auction's conclusion. Shipping times are longer than usual due to the impact of COVID-19.

Please note, items are subject to terms and conditions stipulated by auction donors, and all services must be used within the time limits specifically stated.
