History

The first charity classic, originally called Bozzuto's Sports Charity Classic, was held 44 years ago on September 26, 1978, where 148 golfers, 24 tennis players and 8 bocce players gathered at the Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Connecticut. When Adam started the Bozzuto's Sports Charity Classic his goal was simple - to bring everyone together in a day of fun and camaraderie to raise funds for those in need living in the communities in which we live and work. In honor of the late Adam J. Bozzuto, the Sports Charity Classic was renamed the Adam J. Bozzuto Memorial Charity Classic. The popular and highly anticipated annual event has been regarded as the gold standard for industry fundraising events. To date, the event has raised well over $2.9 million for The Hometown Foundation, Inc.
