AUCTION RULE & GUIDELINES 
The Real Heroes Silent Auction 

  • PREVIEW Monday April 19th. 
  • LIVE for bidding Tuesday April 20th at 9AM. 
  • CLOSE Wednesday April 21st at 9PM. 


REGISTER 
Visit NJHEROES.givesmart.com and select RSVP. Once registered, you will receive a text and email confirming your registration. 

  • Click the blue link in your welcome text message and it will take you to your personal bidding page. Should you be connecting via a browser on your computer or tablet, click on the link in your welcome email to bid.  
  • DO NOT choose to opt out of texts. Doing so prohibits further participation in the auction via your phone. To opt back into Texting, text NJHeroes to 76278. 
  • Internet Explorer is not a recommended browser for the event.  Chrome and Firefox are more compatible.  



HOW TO BID 

  • Watch this short video, or follow the directions below. 
  • Once the auction goes live, you can click on an item you would like to bid on. 
  • Once registered, you may access auction items through the Items tab. 
  • The Bid amount pre-populates with the next minimum bid so all you have to do is press Bid
  • Have GiveSmart automatically bid for you up to a designated amount, by selecting the Auto Bid tab. Enter your highest bid amount and we'll increase your bid as needed to keep you winning until your amount is reached!  
  • You will receive a text notification when you have been outbid at your highest amount entered. PLEASE NOTEOutbid notifications are only communicated via text, so please keep your phone handy, or you will need to keep an eye on the item if not participating solely online. 
  • Auction bids must meet the minimum bid and minimum raise listed.  


RULES 

  • Guests are responsible for all purchases made through GiveSmart. 
  • All sales are 'as is' and final. No exchanges or refunds will be made.  
  • All items must be paid for in full by credit card on April 23, 2021 unless other payment is arranged.  
  • Unless otherwise stated, all date-specific experiences will be scheduled in advance at a mutually-agreed upon date and time.  
  • Unless otherwise stated or negotiated, all services and certificates are subject to availability and must be redeemed by April 21, 2022.  
  • All donated packages are for the sole purpose intended. No commercial use or requests for additional services are proper or allowed. 
  • The American Red Cross is neither responsible nor liable for any accidents or injuries that occur during the use of packages.  
  • Items may not be resold. 
  • The American Red Cross reserves the right to withdraw any items from the auction prior to the event. 
  • Any values quoted are estimates only. Values are not warranted for tax purposes or for general value.  
  • The American Red Cross has made a reasonable effort to accurately describe all packages, and it is not liable for inaccuracies in the item description.  
  • Amounts paid in excess of fair market value may be deductible for federal income tax purposes. Consult your tax advisor for more information.  


Auction Check-out Procedures 

  • Auction check-out will occur immediately following the close of the auction at 9 PM on April 21, 2021, and your credit card on file will be processed immediately. 
  • All items must be picked up at a scheduled time at one of four chapter offices.  A Sign-up Genius link will be provided to the winner via email allowing you to select your location/date/window of time. Auction pickup will be contact-free through use of your vehicle's trunk. COVID-19 guidelines will be in force. 
  • Any items not picked up within 30 days of the event will be shipped at the purchaser's expense. Items can only be shipped to U.S. addresses. 
  • Please note that alcoholic beverages cannot be shipped and must be picked up by (21 years and older, only)
