Schoke JFS Online Silent Auction Bidding and Donating FAQ'S
When does the silent auction open and close?
The silent auction opened on Sunday, March 7th at 12:00pm EST and will close Wednesday, March 17th at 6:00pm EST.
Do I have to buy a ticket to participate in the auction or to donate?
No, you may register through GiveSmart to participate in the silent auction and donate without purchasing a ticket to attend the event.
Is a credit card required to participate in the silent auction?
Yes, a pre-registered credit card is required to begin bidding and to donate. Credit cards on file will be processed for items won in the silent auction on Wednesday, March 17th at 6:00pm EST. We accept all major credit cards.

I received a text message. What do I do next?
Click on the link within the text message you received. This will log you in automatically to your own personal bidding center with the following choices:
- View All: See all auction items
- Categories: Browse items by category
- My Items: Items you've bid on or are "watching"
- Donate: Make a tax-deductible donation to the organization
- Items Without Bids: List of items with no bids
- Item # or Keyword: Enter the item name or number which will take you to the item page to place a bid
How do I bid?
- Bid: Automatically enters the next minimum bid amount; you will be asked by pop-up screen to confirm your bid
- Change Bid Amount: You can manually enter any amount that is greater than the "next bid"
- Set Maximum (Auto) Bid: So that you don't risk getting outbid at the last minute, everyone is encouraged to set a max bid. The auction software will automatically raise your bid by a predetermined increment until your maximum bid has been met or the silent auction ends
- Watch Item: Adds items to your "My Items" list for easy reference later
- Buy Now: Enables you to purchase an item outright instead of bidding
How can I keep active and know if I am outbid or have won an item?
You will be notified via text if you have been outbid. Keep an eye on your favorite items! If you are NOT receiving the text messages, make sure you have the correct mobile number under your GiveSmart profile. The texts will continue to notify you when you have been outbid or reached your maximum bid. When the silent auction closes, you will also receive a text message if you won any items.
How do I pick up my items?
To receive your items, you must pay online by credit card or arrange for another method of payment in order to coordinate delivery/pick-up of your item. Within the week following the closing of the auction, we will contact you regarding your preference for delivery versus in-person pick-up at Schoke JFS.
For delivery of any items bigger than a flat envelope, we will add any shipping and handling costs to your balance for you to authorize payment. Once we have received payment confirmation for the shipping costs, we will package the item and choose the mail carrier at our discretion. If you would like to add insurance for the shipment, please let us know.
How can I donate?
You can just click on the DONATE button, enter the amount you want to donate and fill in the requested information and click on the Donate button. If you want to complete the transaction now, click on the PAY button. We accept all major credit cards.
