Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
Q: Do I need to register to shop?
A: If you just want to browse, you do not need to register. As soon as you click 'buy' or 'bid', though, the system will require that you register, including adding your credit card info.
Q: Do I need to review over 1,000 items to find what I'm looking for?
A: No, at the top of the Items Page there is a 'category' tab. Click the tab to get a list of categories, for example, Furniture or Sporting Goods. Select the department you want, and you'll get the items narrowed down into that category.
Q: After I bid on a silent auction item, how do I know if I have the leading bid?
A: After you place your first bid, you will be notified by text message that someone has outbid you. The text message will include a link, making it easy to return to the Auction & Rummage Sale site to place another bid if you'd like.
Q: I really love one of the silent auction items. Do I have to keep bidding or is there a way to buy it outright?
A: Some auction items have a 'Buy Now' option. You will see the 'Buy Now' tab under the picture of the item. This will allow you to buy is outright.
Q: Is there a place where I can view the items in person?
A: You can view most of the vehicles and boats at the Bainbridge Island Masonic Center, 1299 Grow Avenue. Click here for the Vehicle/Boat viewing schedule. No other items are available for in-person viewing.
Q: I pushed the 'buy' button for several items, but I don't see a Shopping Cart. How do I review my purchases?
A: To review what you have purchased, and to process your credit card, please go to the 'Pay' tab. You will see a summary of your purchases. Please process your credit card here.
Auction items don't close until 5 pm August 30th. If are leading on any auction items they will appear as 'pending' on your summary and won't be charged until the sale concludes (if you have the winning bid).
For shoppers who don't visit the 'Pay' tab to process their credit card, we will do so at the end of each day, at approximately 8 pm.
Q: What if I accidentally press 'buy' for an item?
A: You will need to contact us so that we can put the item back up for sale. Please notify us right away so that we don't charge your credit card, and so we can return the item to the available inventory. Our contact info is noted below.
Q: How do I make a monetary donation to this fundraiser?
A: Thank you for thinking of this option! Please click on the 'Donate' tab (it appears in the white banner at the top of every page).
Q: How will I know where to go to pick up my purchases?
A: Shortly after the Sale concludes on Aug 30th, you will receive the donor's email address for each item you purchased (only your name, not your email address, is shared with the item's donor).
Email the donor to arrange a time/place to collect the item. You can minimize contact by arranging for pickup from the donor's porch or driveway, or at a public location such as a store's parking lot.
