About Carnivale

Join Grace Cathedral to celebrate Mardi Gras 2021 online. All are welcome in our reimagined gala - a celebration with exciting performances, dynamic speakers, a community arts project, an unbelievable after-party and opportunities to support Grace Cathedral programs from early childhood education and music, to the arts, care for seniors and worship.

Art for All

Inspired by Anne Patterson's 2013 "Graced with Light" ribbon art installation and in collaboration with San Francisco's Root Division (link to https://rootdivision.org/), we're excited to create the Grace for All art installation for the cathedral's Great Stairs highlighting Grace's commitment to social justice.

All gala attendees are invited to add sentiments or prayers to a ribbon, representing their connection to Grace Cathedral and to the global community we've created together. Be sure to tune in to Virtual Carnivale for the art unveiling!

A Gala for Change
Grace Cathedral is San Francisco's house of prayer for all people, and to meet this unprecedented moment, tickets to Carnivale 2021 begin at $25, with additional opportunities for sponsorship. This year's Grace for All theme reflects our dedication to inclusivity and highlights our aspirations to bring more of our community together - locally and globally. We're thrilled that Carnivale 2021 will be accessible for all.

A Virtual Party with a Purpose

Raise a toast, do good and celebrate our collective ability to be part of something special! Funds raised through Carnivale provide vital support for Grace Cathedral and its many innovative ministries and programs across worship, education, social justice and the arts. For decades, we have been at the forefront of issues including racial justice, LGBTQ and women's rights, climate change, early education and more.
