Edible Schoolyard NYC has partnered with some of our favorite chefs and lifestyle experts to provide 30-45 minute consultations to help you figure out the best recipe to make out of your pantry, craft perfect fridge pickles, or mix up a cocktail out of what's left in your home bar.
We're excited to partner with the amazing Talia Baiocchi, founder/editor of PUNCH and author of SPRITZ and SHERRY; Victoria Blamey, formerly of Chumley's and Gotham Bar & Grill; Tom Colicchio, chef and owner of Craft, Riverpark, Temple Court, & Small Batch; Michel Couvreux, Beverage Director and Head Sommelier for the three Michelin star Per Se, and TAK Room; Nicholas Morgenstern of Morgenstern's Finest Ice Cream; Alexandra Raij of La Vara, Txikito, El Quinto Pino, and Saint Julivert Fisherie; Alexander Smalls, James Beard award winning Chef, Restauranteur, cookbook author and legendary host; David Tanis, chef, cookbook author and New York Times columnist, and Bon Appétit Test Kitchen stars Claire Saffitz, Chris Morocco, Carla Lalli Music, and Molly Baz.
Edible Schoolyard NYC's mission is to support edible education for every child in New York City. We partner with public schools to cultivate healthy students and communities through hands-on cooking and gardening education, transforming children's relationship with food.
Since schools closed in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we've taken our lessons online, bringing the joy and connection of our gardens and kitchen classrooms to our students' homes. We're also taking care of our gardens so that we can share fresh produce with our school communities. While our students and families can't visit us physically, we want them to know that we are here for them, especially in these uncertain times--but we need your help.
Our organization has been hit hard by the financial impacts of the crisis, and we may have to cut back on our programming even when schools reopen their doors in the fall. We believe that in this unpredictable moment, Edible Schoolyard NYC teachers can provide crucial stability and comfort for kids and reliable resources for families who need support to keep their kids healthy, now more than ever.
Will you join us and keep our gardens growing this summer so that we can keep helping our school communities thrive?
