Hope Auction How-To and Guidelines
Please follow the below guidelines when donating and purchasing items.

How to Donate Items
- Select your items. We are only accepting brand new, never been used or worn items at this time.
- Take photos of your items from all angles. Three photos at minimum.
- Click here: DONATE ITEM(S) to submit your items' photos, a brief description of your items and a guesstimate of the items' fair market value. Once your items are submitted, City of Hope will review and verify them. Items of $100 purchase price or less will remain at your home while active on the site. Once you submit your item through the form, City of Hope will contact you for follow up on shipping preferences and timeline. If you prefer that City of Hope intakes your donation and handles shipping to the buyer, we will do that. Please note when we follow up.
- Ship your donated items to City of Hope. City of Hope will contact you for shipping information and provide a paid label for mailing to our fulfillment centers. All items will be evaluated at our fulfillment centers. Donations including alcohol or other spirits must be stored and shipped with licensed distributor.
- Promote Hope Auction via social media, inviting people to SHOP, DONATE ITEMS or contribute a monetary donation to City of Hope here: DONATE TODAY!
Donated Item Condition Guidelines
New: Please sanitize all items prior to shipping.
- Clothing: Items show no signs of being worn and tags are attached.
- Handbags, Shoes and Accessories: Items show no signs of being worn and include tags, box and dust bag preferred (when applicable).
- Jewelry/Watches: Items show no signs of being worn, come in original packaging.
- Home Goods: Items show no signs of wear and come with a box and/or tags.
- Food: No perishable items please. All items must have an expiration lifespan of at least 8 months.
- Gift Cards: Minimum value of $50 unless you are including them within a donated basket or set.
Tips/Tricks for Purchasing Items
- Access the Hope Auction Shop here: SHOP FOR GOOD. Scroll through categories to find specifics. Anything live on the auctions will have a Buy Now option too!
- Once you have selected the items you want to purchase, populate the info requested on the site to buy the items. You will be prompted to login to your Givesmart account. If you do not have a Givesmart account, you will have to register to create one.
- City of Hope will contact you to verify your purchases and provide you a delivery window for your items. Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, delivery windows may vary.
