How do I participate?

First, you need to register an account on this website (it's free!). Click "1st Step, Register An Account"  under the photo at the top of the home page. Please complete all the requested information including your mobile phone number and credit card details. Once you've registered, you can use your phone, tablet or computer to bid on auction items, purchase a raffle ticket, watch the Live Stream broadcast or make a tax-deductible donation to CKRH.

 

How do I bid on an auction item?

Upon completion of your registration, you will be returned to the home page. Under the photo, click the "Browse, Bid or Buy Items"  to access the auction page. Scroll through the items & click on those of interest to you. The item will open and prompt you through the bid process. GiveSmart will keep you updated by text if another person outbids you so that you have an opportunity to make a higher bid on that item. There's lots more information on bidding, such as setting autobids or maximum bids by clicking the "How to Bid" button on the home page.

 

If I'm having technical difficulties connecting to the event, how do I get help?

Live tech support will be available from 6-9 pm (EST). The number is located on the home page.

 

How do I know if I won an auction item?

GiveSmart will send a notification text to the winning bidder. All bids are timestamped so that the auction operates under universally fair conditions, and the last highest qualified electronic bid received at the auction's closure is deemed the winner.

 

How do I pay for my items?

During the registration process, your credit card information is secured and affiliated with your account. Upon the auction's closure, all items of which you were the winning bidder are tallied and a single charge made to your credit card. If post-event shipping is required, those charges will also be added to your credit card.

 

How do I collect my items?

You can pick them up directly from the CKRH barn located at the KY Horse Park between October 26-30, 9AM- 4PM. If you need to have your items shipped, please contact Karen Richardson, CKRH Administrative Assistant, at karenr@ckrh.org after October 24th to make those arrangements. Some items such as alcohol or large pieces of artwork are ineligible for shipping and have a respective notation in their auction description. All shipping and insurance costs are the responsibility of the winning bidder. Please be aware that if you are picking up an alcoholic beverage, you must be over 21 years of age & show proof of age with a valid driver's license.

 

How do I watch the live stream program or bid on a Live Auction item?

At 7:00pm on October 24th, click the "View Our Live Stream"  button on the home page and you will be connected to the broadcast. We encourage you to update the Adobe Flash Player program on your computer before trying to connect! The program is scheduled to run for approximately 1-1/2 hours during which time all sorts of entertainment will be provided, including the Live Auction (NOTE: Horse Sponsorships will open for preliminary bidding on October 23, 9:00AM. We encourage you to join or form a syndicate to support these wonderful horse & rider teams!) As each Live Auction item is presented for sale, the auctioneer will announce the highest current bid received and begin the auction process from that respective $ amount. The Silent Auction will also run concurrently, so you can continue to bid on Silent Auction items during the entire broadcast. 

 

How do I buy a raffle ticket for the Pappy Van Winkle bourbon?

First, you must register a free account as indicated at the top of the home page. Once in the registration pane, you can scroll down to the Raffle section & buy a ticket.  If you prefer to purchase a ticket after registration, you can click the "Browse, Bid or Buy Items"  button under the photo on the home page & scroll down to Item # 1100. There are only 250 raffle tickets available for this premium bourbon, and its drawing is scheduled for 8:15pm on October 24th. Please be aware that this item is not available for shipping and must be collected in person from CKRH due to Kentucky laws regarding the transportation of liquor.

 

Can I make a donation to CKRH instead of participating in the auction?

Yes. There are two ways to donate, but both require that you establish a free registration account first:

1) During the registration process, you can scroll down to the "Donations" section & select an amount;

2) If you choose not to donate during the registration process, you can still do so at a later time by clicking the "Donate" tab in the upper left corner of the home page (or scrolling down to the "Donate Now" section at the bottom of the home page.) 


What is a Virtual Table Sponsor? How do I become one?

A Virtual Table Sponsor is basically a host site for viewing the Live Stream broadcast on Oct 24th. Because we cannot come together as a large group this year, we're encouraging people gather in small groups in their living rooms to watch the broadcast, bid on items & just enjoy each other's companionship. Think of Saddle Up 2020 as a sort-of delayed Derby party!

 

This is a fully-deductible $2,000 tax donation for which you will receive a confirmation letter in early 2021 for filing purposes. Benefits include recognition during the Live Stream broadcast and in the virtual event materials (note: we need confirmation of your Table Sponsorship status by October 20, 2020 to ensure inclusion in the event program's content.) As you know, CKRH depends on sponsors to help us cover event expenses and contribute to the annual operating fund....even in a pandemic, that need has not changed!
