1. #CORAtrailblazing: Volunteer for at least two hours of trail maintenance between 8/1 and 9/18. Log your time here.
The woods can be your own zen garden. Get some fresh air while helping to maintain and build trails for all to enjoy. Once you're finished with that satisfying work, log the time at the link above; CORA may be able to use that time to land grant dollars for additional trail improvements.
2. #LuvCaesar: Ride the trails of Caesar Creek (Waynesville, OH).
The Caesar Creek trail crew has been working hard to clear trails of honeysuckle and mud pits as well as adding bridges and rock armoring throughout the trails. Experience what Ma Caesar has to offer; it's one of the first and longest trails in the tri-state!
3. #LuvHuestonWoods: Ride the North Loop and Equisetum Loop at Hueston Woods (College Corner, OH).
Scott, Alex, and the crew at Hueston Woods continue to expand the trail around Lake Acton with a delightful mix of old-school singletrack and new style flow.
4. #LuvMtAiry: Visit the new Mount Airy Forest trails (Cincinnati, OH).
Since the introduction of mountain bikes in the early '80s, it's been illegal to ride in Mount Airy Forest. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of CORA and the Cincinnati Parks Board, riders can now experience over 2-1/2 miles of hand-built trail, with a machine-built flow trail and beginner-friendly skills park in the works!
5. #LuvDevou: Ride the trails in Devou Park (Covington, KY).
Devou Park is the diamond destination of the Midwest for dirt. If you haven't been to the 13 miles of machine-built, purpose built mountain biking trail, you are missing out. Future plans include adding another five miles of trail and a new area with A & B Lines to practice features and build skills.
6. #LuvEastFork: Ride the trails in East Fork State Park (Bethel, OH).
William H. Harsha! Would you look at those trails! East Fork's progressive ridgeline loops at East Fork State Park have a style all their own. Take a ride, do some fishing, or swim at the beach. What more can you ask for?
7. #TaleofTwoTrails: Visit two different trail locations in one day.
If you could do anything in one day, make it two trail locations in the same day! Extra points if you run or ride from park to park!
8. #CORAkidsMTB: Take a kid mountain biking or hiking on a CORA trail.
Trade the video games and smartphones for fresh air and quality time in nature! They can't ride (or hike) their whole life if you don't start 'em young. ;)
9. #CORAfriends: Take a friend mountain biking, hiking, or running on a CORA trail.
Gotta share the #trailluv with a friend! Hit the trails together and don't forget to take a commemorative photo for social media!
10. #CORAfamilies: Enjoy a run, hike, or ride with your significant other, parent, sibling, or other family member(s) on a CORA trail.
Trail outings are always better together! Spend some quality family time on the trails and know that if you get into a family squabble, you can all go home by a different route.
11. #TrailblazersTrekLongRun: Travel by foot on a CORA trail for at least 5 miles in a single, off-road excursion.
It's no 5K! Get out on a CORA trail and put in 5 miles by foot at your own pace.
12. #TrailblazersTrek20: Travel 20 miles in a single, off-road ride on a CORA trail.
If there's a way to quantify an epic ride, it's by distance... and 20 miles is the gold standard for a solid effort.
13. #TrailblazersTrek30: Travel by foot on CORA trails for at least 30 miles (cumulative) between now and 9/18.
The best way to lean up is by running! Run (or walk or jog or hike or jig) your way through 30 miles of trail by the end of the Trailblazers Trek.
14. #TrailblazersTrek75: Ride on CORA trails for at least 75 miles (cumulative) between now and 9/18.
Get that cardio and strength training in while the weather is still perfect! Don't forget to record your rides on Trailforks or Strava.
15. #CORAtrailfriends: Become an official member of CORA, or recruit someone in your network to join.
More members in CORA equals more fun and MORE TRAIL!
