This basket features Mother's Day items illustrated and made by Catholic artist Elizabeth Lemme of Pelican Printery House. The basket includes a framed manuscript illlumination of Our Lady with a text calligraphed from the Song of Songs, and a border of flowers in the style of the Early Renaissance prayer books. Another print is a calligraphed text of St. Gianna, "Love your children, in them you can see baby Jesus," surrounded with an illustrated wreath of flowers. Also included is a bundle of Pelican Printery House stationary: 1. one letter-pressed Mother's Day card printed on a 1915 Chandler & Price Letterpress in Lincoln, NE, 2. a set of 3 illustrated greeting cards of St. Martha with the quote "God lives among the pots and pans" by St. Teresa of Avila, and 3. a set of 3 illustrated greeting cards with a humorous image of a farmhouse sink filled with dishes, with the inscription "Just let 'em soak." Finally, there is a 33 knot "chotki," or prayer rope, hand-knotted according to a 3rd Century tradition called "Jesus Knots." Instructions are included, describing the poignant symbolism of the prayer rope, as well as the tradition of saying "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me" on each knot.
