Auction Information & Policies

Thank you for supporting the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) through our 2026 Honors Gala Silent Auction! Your participation helps advance our mission of supporting Osteopathic medical students, physicians and programs that make a meaningful difference in health care.


Auction Dates

  • Opens: Friday, October 9, 2026, at 8:00 AM PT
  • Closes: Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 12:00 PM PT

You do not need to attend the Honors Gala to participate or win.


Bidding & Payment

  • All bids are final and binding once submitted.

  • The highest eligible bid recorded at the close of the auction will be the winning bid, subject to verification and these auction policies.

  • Payment for winning bids will generally be processed automatically using the payment card on file through GiveSmart. For higher-value travel packages or experiences, AOF may permit an alternative payment method and will provide the applicable payment instructions.

  • Winning bidders are responsible for ensuring that payment is completed in full within the deadline communicated by AOF.

  • If payment cannot be processed or a winning bidder fails to complete payment by the applicable deadline, AOF reserves the right to cancel the award and, where appropriate, offer the item to another eligible bidder or take other reasonable action.

  • All sales are final. Refunds, returns, and exchanges are not permitted except where required by applicable law or where AOF determines that a refund or other resolution is appropriate because an item or experience cannot be fulfilled as described.

  • AOF reserves the right to investigate and resolve bidding discrepancies, technical errors, suspected irregularities, or other auction issues; correct errors; and cancel or withdraw an item or bid when reasonably necessary.


Shipping & Delivery

  • Items will be shipped following receipt of full payment and confirmation of the winner's shipping information.

  • Winning bidders are responsible for providing complete and accurate shipping information.

  • Please allow reasonable time following the auction for processing, packaging, and shipment. AOF will communicate material shipping delays when applicable.

  • AOF will use reasonable care in arranging shipment. If an item is lost, damaged, or not delivered, please contact AOF promptly so the issue can be reviewed and appropriate next steps determined.


Travel Packages & Experiences

  • Travel packages, accommodations, tickets, and experiences are subject to the specific terms, conditions, availability, restrictions, and expiration dates stated in their individual descriptions and any accompanying certificates or redemption instructions.

  • Blackout dates, advance booking requirements, capacity limits, age restrictions, and other conditions may apply. Winners should review all applicable terms before bidding.

  • Unless otherwise specified in the item description, airfare, transportation, meals, taxes, gratuities, and incidental expenses are the responsibility of the winning bidder.

  • Winning bidders are responsible for coordinating reservations and redemption according to the instructions and deadlines provided.

  • Travel and experience packages are nonrefundable and may not be exchanged for cash, except where required by applicable law or where AOF determines an alternative resolution is necessary because the package cannot be fulfilled as described.

  • Fulfillment may depend on third-party providers. Their applicable terms and conditions may also apply.


Item Descriptions & Values

  • AOF makes reasonable efforts to provide accurate item descriptions and good-faith estimates of value. Estimated values are provided for informational purposes and are not appraisals or guarantees of market or resale value.

  • Items are offered in the condition and with the features, inclusions, and restrictions described in their individual listings. Except as expressly stated in a listing or required by applicable law, AOF makes no additional warranties or guarantees regarding auction items.

  • Photographs may be illustrative and may not depict the exact item, model, condition, or experience being offered. Please review the item description carefully before bidding.

  • Any material questions about an item should be directed to AOF before placing a bid.


Taxes & Charitable Contributions

  • A winning bid does not automatically qualify as a tax-deductible charitable contribution. Any potential deduction is subject to applicable tax laws and the fair market value of the goods or services received. Please consult your tax adviser regarding your individual circumstances.
