Commissioner Jonathan Young has been a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters since 1996. Before becoming Political Director of the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters (EASRCC), he served as a Council Representative. Throughout his career, he has been a steadfast advocate for fair wages, strong labor standards, and meaningful career pathways through workforce development.

Since 2015, Jonathan has served as a Camden County Commissioner in New Jersey. He works closely with the Camden County Technical Schools Advisory Committee to help shape career and technical education programs that prepare students for the skilled trades. As a member of the Walter Rand Institute for Public Affairs Advisory Board, he also supports research on economic and public policy issues affecting Southern New Jersey while promoting civic engagement and ensuring the region's voices are represented in public discussions.

Jonathan's leadership extends across labor, government, and the community. He is a commissioner of the Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA), a position he has held since 2025, and an executive board member of Saint Joseph's Carpenter Society in Camden. He is also a past president of the New Jersey Association of Counties (NJAC), vice president of the Southern New Jersey Building Trades Council, a founding member of NJ-19, and a former president of the Southern New Jersey Commissioners Association. Born and raised in Darby Township, Pennsylvania, Jonathan now resides in Berlin Township, New Jersey, with his family and has proudly called Camden County home for more than 30 years.
