Barbara Holcomb started her career at Camden Regional Legal Services ensuring fair housing, equity in the work place & improved life issues for minorities and women. Served 3 years on Winslow Townships BOE, 9 ½ years as Councilwoman & Winslow's Deputy Mayor, and 1 year as Camden County Freeholder/Commissioner addressing cultural diversity, pay equity, and a government assessable to its residents. She currently serves as a Commissioner for the Camden County Board of Taxation and Vice Chair of South Jersey Transportation Authority.

In addition to her elected and appointed positions, she's served as Chairman of the Board of the South Jersey Chapter of March of Dimes, Chairwoman of the Camden County Commission for Women, Director of Programs for the Camden County Youth Center, Trustee for the Division of Senior Services, & 30+ years as Vice-Chairwoman of the Camden County Democratic Committee. Her service, mentorship to Women, and Stewardship to Community and Good Government is exemplary.

Some of many recognitions receive include "Citizen of the Year" by Pi Kappa Kappa Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity; the "Humanitarian of the Year Award" from the Association of Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs; the "Meritorious Service Award" from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority; the "Z-Hope Citizen of the Year Award" from Zeta Phi Beta Sorority; the "Visionary Leadership Award" from NAACP Camden County East; the "Camden County Community Service Award" from the Camden County Board of Commissioners; the Community Leader Award from Men Empowering Nations and "Woman of Honor" from the Camden County Federation of Democratic Women.
