Welcome to Helping Horse!

Helping Horse Therapeutic Programs (est. 1989)

At Helping Horse Therapeutic Programs, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we serve those with physical, mental, and social special needs through equine engagement experiences. Our students come to us for many different reasons. Some physically benefit from riding by strengthening underused muscles. Some find peace and comfort in building emotional connections with our horses and team. All students gain confidence and self-awareness through accomplishing their goals during our programs. We frequently witness students reach major milestones during their lessons, such as expressing words verbally for the first time!

Our mission centers around serving our students through an uplifting and inclusive environment. Helping Horse provides both mounted and unmounted programs for participants based on their needs, and we continue to expand our programming to serve our community in new ways. In spring of 2023, we launched an unmounted wellness program for first responders and veterans. We have served dozens of individuals and families through this growing program and are continuing to develop new partnerships! Today, we have 12 horses on our farm, 12 instructors (2 PATH Certified), and over 100 actively engaged volunteers.

We are always looking for more volunteers to join our team! Email volunteer@helpinghorse.org if you're interested!

The daily success of our programs is a result of our dedicated team of horses, volunteers, and instructors; however, we cannot accomplish our goals alone.  Fundraisers help offset the cost of operations so our team can continue the impactful things they do. Our goal in the annual Dare to Dream Gala is to raise the funds needed to continue offering our services, expand our programs' capacity, and provide excellent care for our horses. You are a necessary part of this effort! Please consider supporting our mission by sponsoring the gala, participating in the silent auction, and purchasing tickets to the event.

Thank you for being such an important part of our Helping Horse community!
