5K Run/Walk Liability Waiver and Release of Claims

(Applies to All Participants, Including Minors)

Event Name:  Sprint for Syngap | The Mora & Quasay 5k 

Event Date:   April 25, 2026

Location:       Williamsburg, Virginia

I understand that participation in this 5K Run/Walk involves physical activity and carries inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather conditions, traffic, uneven surfaces, and other hazards associated with outdoor events.

I affirm that I, or the minor participant named in my registration, am physically able to participate and assume full responsibility for any risks associated with participation.

In consideration of being permitted to participate, I hereby waive, release, and hold harmless CURE SYNGAP1, the event organizers, sponsors, volunteers, partners, and affiliates, including their officers, directors, employees, and agents, from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or causes of action arising out of participation in the event, including those resulting from negligence, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

I authorize emergency medical treatment if deemed necessary and agree to be responsible for any related costs.

I grant permission for the use of photographs, video, or other media taken during the event for promotional, educational, or other lawful purposes, without compensation.

This waiver shall be binding upon me, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns.

I acknowledge that I have read and understand this waiver and sign it voluntarily as either (1) the participant 18 years of age or older or as (2) the parent/legal guardian of the minor participant named in the race registration and consent to their participation and agree to this waiver on their behalf. 

Providing my digital signature/agreement during the Sprint for Syngap check-out affirms that I agree to the terms of the Sprint for Syngap race waiver detailed above.
