The Field Mithoefer Fund

At EB, community is more than a word-it's at the foundation of who we are. It means showing up for one another, celebrating together in times of joy, and standing united in times of need.

During the school's 25th anniversary, EB celebrated its founders and impactful community members. One such was Field Mithoefer, a school grandmother famous for her generosity in key moments of the school's early days. In honor of her generosity, a group of founders and early parents came together to donate $20,000 for families who might otherwise be forced to leave the school without additional assistance. Thus, the Field Mithoefer Fund was born. 

For over twenty years, the Field Mithoefer Fund has embodied the spirit of communal solidarity at EB. The fund provides vital support for EB families who encounter unexpected financial hardships, ensuring that no child's education is disrupted. Any family, no matter their circumstance, can request assistance through this fund. Because at EB, we believe that every student deserves to learn, grow, and thrive-no matter what challenges life may bring.

This fund isn't just about tuition assistance; it's about standing up for one another. It's about making sure that friendships remain unbroken, that classrooms stay whole, and that our students continue to learn side by side. It's about coming together as a community, just as we always have.

For years, generous donors have made this safety net possible, ensuring that families have the support they need when they need it most. Over the last ten years, more than $500,000 has been awarded to deserving families, allowing them to continue their EB journeys when they might have otherwise been cut short. Last year, our community contributed an incredible $107,000 to this Fund, providing sixteen families with the resources to stay a part of the EB family. Now, the Fund needs our assistance to grow once more.

The uncertainty of the world today highlights the importance of solidarity, of standing up for one another and showing our students what it means to be in community. When we support each other, we build a stronger, more connected EB. Together, we can ensure that every student and every family remains part of this incredible family.
