Grown on the western benchlands of the Rutherford AVA in Napa Valley, this wine showcases the region's signature depth and structure. Aromas of black raspberry, boysenberry, dark cherry, lilac, cedar, and subtle spice open the experience. On the palate, layers of rich red berries, cocoa nibs, crushed gravel, and hints of truffle create a complex and balanced profile. 2024 "Date Night" Sauvignon Blanc
Also featured this evening is the vibrant 2024 "Date Night" Sauvignon Blanc, a bright and inviting white wine generously shared for the Wine & Wishes celebration. This youthful wine opens with an exuberant bouquet bursting with aromas of freshly cut pineapple, lemon zest, and white stone fruits. On the palate, it offers a rich yet balanced mouthfeel created through meticulous sur lie aging. This process softens the wine's natural acidity while adding a creamy texture and greater complexity, resulting in a smooth, layered wine with a long, elegant finish.
The fruit was harvested during the cool early morning hours to preserve freshness and aromatics. Grapes were pressed whole cluster and fermented using two specially selected yeast strains chosen to enhance the Sancerre-style qualities inherent in the Sauvignon Blanc fruit. After extended cold fermentation, the wine aged for six months in a combination of small stainless-steel barrels and tanks, with weekly stirring of the lees before final blending and bottling.
