Meet Cathy

As the CONUS Senior Director for Service to the Armed Forces/International Services-US Programs (SAF/ISUS) at the American Red Cross, Cathy supports the SAF Vice President, based in Germany, gin leading SAF operations. She provides critical leadership for the SAF CONUS workforce and is responsible for Red Cross activities throughout the CONUS footprint.

Prior to her current position, Cathy served as the Central Atlantic Division's Director of SAF/ISUS Programs. She began her Red Cross career 40 years ago at the Pittsburgh-Allegheny County Chapter as a Service to Military Families and Veterans Caseworker.

She continued her Red Cross career as the Emergency Services Director in Harrisburg, PA, for nine years and then went on to work at National Headquarters in various leadership roles within Disaster Services and Emergency Management Relationship Field Services until rejoining the Service to the Armed Forces Program in July 2014.

During her career, she has been assigned to over 41 major Disaster Relief Operations throughout the United States, coordinating efforts with local, state, and federal government agencies, nongovernmental partners, and elected officials. Additionally, she has led more than a dozen Red Cross Disaster Response Evaluation Teams, including the response to the Pentagon after 9/11.

Cathy holds a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh.
