2026 Inclement Weather Policy/Procedures
1. In the unfortunate event of severe rain with thunder/lightning occurring before the start of the event, Ready Start GROW may be cancelled. A final decision and notification will be sent to sponsors, event entertainment, and food vendors via the email provided on the sponsorship form and will also be posted on the "St Tammany Ready Start Network" Facebook page by 6am on the morning of the event.
2. In the event of adverse weather, such as severe rain and/or thunder/lightning which begins after the event has started, there may be a cancellation or temporary stoppage of the event with the decision to resume being made on an hour by hour basis by the event coordinating team in conjunction with local public safety personnel.
3. Volunteers will also need to be made aware to check the website for updates.
4. Sponsors should come prepared for light to moderate rain ("April showers bring
May flowers") which would include the use of umbrellas, rain boots, ponchos, and/or bags to cover candy/giveaways and personal items.
5. Sponsors are allowed to bring a tent no larger than 10'x10' for their area to protect displays from the elements.
6. In the event of light to moderate rain, electricity may not be allowed for safety reasons.
7. Sponsors should be aware that their displays and tents will require adequate support or staking to prevent them from being airborne and a danger or hazard to event participants.

St Tammany Parish Public School System is the lead agency for the St Tammany Early Childhood Ready Start Network. Ready Start GROW is a fundraising event for the St Tammany Early Childhood RSN. All sponsorship agreements are final and non-refundable. In the event for a cancellation of any reason, including inclement weather, sponsorship fees will not be reimbursed.
