Hi, my name is Freya. I moved to the United States from Switzerland when I was 18 and began a journey that has been deeply shaped by my personal connection to cancer. For most of my life, my mom bravely battled breast cancer. I grew up watching her endure countless treatments, chemotherapy, and the emotional and physical toll that came with it. She passed away when I was 18, during my freshman year of college, and her strength continues to inspire me every day.
Driven by that experience, I became an oncology nurse and spent two years caring for patients who were facing challenges similar to what my mom went through. It was incredibly meaningful work, and it allowed me to support patients and families during some of their most difficult moments. While I now work in a neuro-trauma ICU, my passion for the oncology community has never left me.
I'm committed to staying involved in the fight against cancer and giving back to a community that has had such a profound impact on my life. This year, I'll be participating in fundraising efforts to support cancer patients and their families, and I would be so grateful to have your support. Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
