Hi! I'm Serafina Fox, and I currently serve as the Mission & Engagement Lead for GenNow Philadelphia. Outside of GenNow, I work as a Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin and am virtually pursuing my Master's in Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. I joined GenNow in June 2025 after moving back to South Jersey post-grad, and I'm so excited to be part of this community.
I started volunteering with The American Cancer Society 9 years ago, and it's been a cause close to my heart ever since. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to attend, volunteer, and lead both campus and community events that raise funds and awareness for the ACS. One moment that will always stay with me was a conversation I had while I was leading the Virginia Tech Relay For Life main event. After our event, I had the privilege of speaking with a participant who wanted to thank our team for raising over $200,000 for the ACS. She is a 4x time cancer survivor and shared that her most recent round of treatments led her to remission. The research that led to her remission was funded by the ACS just a few years earlier. That conversation put into perspective for me the real impact of the life-saving work the ACS does. Cancer has affected too many of my family and loved ones. That's why I continue to stay involved, to help support the programs and research that make a difference for so many.
