Meet Valencia Hike

Valencia Hike is the Director of Community Engagement for the Baltimore Orioles, managing the team's strategic community impact throughout Baltimore City and nearby counties. She spearheads initiatives in the Orioles' core areas: Play/Youth Sports, Inner-City Health Equity, Education, and Military & First Responders, advancing programs that increase sports access, enhance academics, promote health equity, and pay tribute to those who serve.

She supports the Orioles' philanthropic efforts by enhancing the impact of the Charitable Foundation and auctions, making sure these investments effectively address community priorities and foster stronger partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and neighborhood leaders.
Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, Hike moved to Baltimore to pursue higher education and develop a purpose-driven career. With 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and community development, she has held key positions at ShareBaby and Park Heights Renaissance, sharpening her skills in strategic programming and partnership building.

A dedicated civic leader, Hike promotes community impact as an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Metropolitan Baltimore, Black Girls RUN! Baltimore, and the Baltimore Road Runners Club. She advocates for education and empowerment, serving on the boards of Marian House and Teach For America-Baltimore, and mentoring emerging leaders through the Enterprise Community Partners Women's Network.

A 2024 Maryland Top 100 Women honoree, Hike graduated from the Towson University Professional Leadership Program for Women and is part of Leadership Baltimore Class of 2025. Guided by the belief that community thrives through collaboration, she advocates for initiatives to strengthen Baltimore's neighborhoods and expand opportunities for the next generation.
