How does the silent auction work?

We are using GiveSmart mobile bidding for our auction. You can use your smartphone, tablet, or computer to keep up with the status of your bids and continue bidding until the auction closes. You can be the winning bidder wherever you are in the world!

 
How do I participate in the online bidding auction?

Get started online through this auction page.  Just hit the "Register Now" button and enter your name, mobile phone number, and email.  Credit card information is required to bid.  

Why can't I bid on Live Auction items now?

Ticketholders may bid on the live auction (items #1-12) during the Social & Auction program in the TCS gym on Saturday, March 7.

How do I start and continue my bidding?

Browse the Silent Auction under the ITEMS tab and click on an item you would like to bid on.  The GiveSmart system prepopulates with the next minimum bid, so all you have to do is press BID.  If you'd like to go higher, just enter a new amount and press BID.  To have the GiveSmart system automatically bid for you to a designated amount, please select the AUTO tab and enter a higher amount.  The system will bid for you incrementally up until your designated amount only if someone bids against you.  

Is there a way to view the auction items based on my interests?

Absolutely!  In the Items page, click on "CATEGORIES"  toward the top of the page, and a drop-down menu will appear.  Select the category of items you would like to view.

How can I keep active and know if I am outbid or have won an item?

You will be notified via text if you have been outbid.  Keep an eye on your favorite items!  If you are NOT receiving the text messages make sure you have the correct mobile number under your profile.  The texts will continue to notify you when you have been outbid or reached your maximum bid.  When the silent auction closes, you will also receive a text message if you won any items.

After the auction closes, how do I check out and pay for items I have won or purchased?

From the Pay page, you can review your purchase summary and make a payment with either a credit card on file or a new one added.  Once payment is secured, a red PAID stamp will appear on the summary.

What if I want to pay by check?

If you are attending the Social & Auction on March 7 please visit the "Check Out" table at the conclusion of the program.  Otherwise, please deliver your check to the Business Office at Trinity by Wednesday, March 11.

How do I collect the items I have won or purchased?

If you are attending the Social & Auction on March 7, please show your "PAID" summary at the "Check-out" table at the conclusion of the program. Otherwise, your winnings will be ready for pickup in OHS on Monday, March 9, between 7:45 and 9:00AM or 12:00 and 3:00PM. Please email auction@tcsfairfax.org if you need to make different pickup arrangements.
