Vision

To cultivate lifelong careers and future industry leaders through accessible and affordable training.

History of the UAPTC Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute

In 2006, the Arkansas Culinary School officially merged with the University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College, forming a new academic division offering associate degrees in Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry Arts, and Hospitality Management. Enrollment quickly expanded-from 47 students at the time of the merger to more than 400 within a few years.

Recognizing the need for a state-of-the-art training facility, UA-Pulaski Tech leadership and community partners began planning for a new culinary building, selecting space near the Saline-Pulaski County line for its accessibility and cost efficiency.

With funding from a bond issue by the Pulaski Tech Board of Trustees and $2.5 million raised by the UA-PTC Foundation, construction began in 2011. The 60,000-square-foot facility, built by Kinco Constructors, was completed in just 13 months and opened to students shortly thereafter.

The result was the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute (CAHMI) - a cutting-edge, hands-on learning environment that continues to elevate culinary education in Arkansas and beyond.
