Dr. Alberto Ardon '99

Dr. Ardon is an anesthesiology consultant and Assistant Professor at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. After graduating from Bishop O'Connell, he attended the LSU Honors College in Baton Rouge, LA, for his undergraduate education. He obtained his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in 2009 and a graduate degree in public health from Tulane University School of Public Health. He completed his anesthesia residency at the University of Virginia Health System and consequently completed a fellowship in regional anesthesia and acute pain at the Mayo Clinic. He has been practicing since 2014, focusing on ambulatory anesthesia, orthopedic anesthesia, and acute pain management. He is the program director for the regional anesthesia and acute pain fellowship at Mayo Clinic Florida. His research interests include outpatient arthroplasty, systematic reviews, and peripheral nerve block techniques in outpatient settings. He has published 29 peer-reviewed articles as well as six book chapters. He has delivered over 100 presentations on various anesthesia topics at national and international society meetings. He is the current president of the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia (SAMBA) and also holds leadership positions in other national medical societies. He has been married to his dear wife, Dr. Tina Ardon, for 15 years, and they have three children: Olivia, Victoria, and Alejandro. In his free time, he enjoys Brazilian jiu-jitsu, cooking, and reading about leadership.
