Naijee Jones
Nominated - The Rising Star Youth Award

Born and raised in Camden, NJ, Naijee Jones embodies the essence of servant leadership, community  impact, and resilience. His story is one of perseverance, deeply rooted in the values instilled by his  mother, who had him at 16 but refused to let circumstances define their future. She set an example by  working three jobs while earning her bachelor's and master's degrees, instilling in Naijee the mindset that he, too, would not become a statistic.

Growing up on the East Side of Camden, Naijee found guidance and opportunity through the Boys & Girls  Club, where he participated in various programs, sports, and even filmed a commercial at just 10 years old. This experience shaped his character and passion for giving back. His family's deep commitment to community involvement, from serving at St. John's Baptist Church to organizing food drives with the South Jersey Food Bank, reinforced his understanding that true success is measured by what you give not just what you gain.

Excelling in both academics and athletics, Naijee earned full scholarships for football, leading him to a career that included working with the NFLPA. While this experience provided a global perspective, he knew his purpose extended beyond personal achievement. Returning to Camden, he sought to use his platform to uplift others, which led to the creation of the First Timers Society a nonprofit dedicated to  helping young adults navigate the transition into adulthood.

Community service remains at the heart of Naijee's mission. He has helped bring resources directly to those who need them most, including hosting a Winter Drive that provided coats, hats, and winter essentials to Camden elementary school students. Alongside two-time Super Bowl champion Isiah Pacheco, NFL player Bo Melton, and Syracuse head coach Fran Brown, they delivered winter gear and a $700 check to support K-4th grade students.

Through First Timers Society, Naijee has helped fund large-scale community events, covering food, drinks, entertainment, and prizes completely free for thousands of South Jersey residents. He has also been an active participant in Camden cleanups alongside the Mayor, ensuring that the community remains a clean, safe, and welcoming place for its residents.

Beyond organizing events, Naijee is deeply invested in mentorship. He frequently speaks at Camden youth programs, sharing his journey to inspire and equip the next generation with the tools they need to succeed. He also dedicates time to volunteering with Camden High School's football team, providing guidance and support to young athletes navigating their own paths.

But the work is far from done. The vision is to continue introducing creative community activities, giveaways, and initiatives for as long as possible because Camden has always given to its people, and it deserves to be poured into.

One of Naijee's biggest goals is to expand and enhance the Boys & Girls Club blueprint, ensuring that local youth have access to new opportunities, resources, and amenities that aren't typically available in underserved communities. His mission remains clear: to uplift, to serve, and to ensure that the next generation has a foundation built not on sand, but on rock.
