Dr. Nikhil Singh Bhalla, MD
Nominated - The Excellence in Healthcare Award

Dr. Nikhil is from the South Jersey, Camden County area with his life experience in both Voorhees and Camden, NJ. Like many youth growing up in the area, he went astray; which led him to a deep, dark place. This pain forced him to call on God, which gave him the strength to turn his life around and embark on an extremely long and difficult journey to become a medical doctor. He chose to become a medical doctor because he realized that we as a people have good hearts with bad habits and many of us make unhealthy choices to cope with our struggles. With this in mind, he returned home to serve the community where he lives and works as a Primary Medical Doctor at CAMcare (A Federally Qualified Community Health
Clinic) in Camden, NJ. As a primary care physician, he strives to provide quality medical care and help people achieve a healthy and honorable lifestyle. Not only does he understand the challenges that his patients face, but the patients he serves understand him and give his journey meaning and purpose.

Nikhil is also an avid martial artist who trains various warrior arts including Capoeira, Boxing, Kickboxing / Muay Thai, BJJ, etc. He is part of a collective called In~LIGHTen~US who lead programs and workshops that teach people deep breathing exercises, martial arts, yoga, meditation, healthy eating, etc, along with a healing discussion designed to increase the vibration and help people become the highest version of themselves. He teaches a workshop entitled "Healing Through the Warrior Arts," which entails practical self-defense, exercise/calisthenics, yoga/stretching, and meditation. In his free time, he uses art in the form of music and poetry to express his pain, struggle, and perspective; in addition to promoting health, healing, morals, ethics, and the honorable principles that he strives to live by.
