Places to stay
Coming from out of town? If you're looking for a place to stay, here are some recommendations:
In Charlotte near our venue: Hyatt House City Center (10 min drive to venue)
In Davidson: the College Guest House, The Davidson Village Inn, or Homewood Suites (40 minute drive to venue)
Near the Charlotte Airport: Tru by Hilton (23 min drive to venue)
Event Schedule
Monday, September 15th - Auction Opens at 10am
Saturday, September 20th
5:30pm - Social Hour begins. Guests can mingle, have a drink, bid on auction items, take fun photos, and more. Hors d'oeuvres will be served.
6:45pm - Guests will receive a text alert with their table number and begin taking their seats in the main dining area.
7:15pm - Opening prayer, dinner is served.
8:00pm - Fashion show begins and a 15 minute warning on the auction is sent out.
8:15pm - Auction closes. Winners will receive a text alert. Winners present can get their items at checkout after the program concludes.
8:15pm - Main program begins
~9:00pm - Main program ends. Check out will begin in the auction area. Guests may pay for their items on their phone or see a volunteer at checkout.
What's for dinner?
This year we've chosen from our new venue's standard catering menu. With a buffet-style, guests can enjoy a garden salad, choice of Chicken Breast or Cauliflower Gnocchi with sides of mashed potatoes and root vegetables. Hors d'oeuvres served during the social hour include a Hummus Bruscetta and Bulgolgi Beef Kabob.
Parking
Parking is available on site with an overflow lot a 2 minute walk across the street. For additional questions and handicap assistance, please call Laura Knight at 704-918-0469.
What to Wear
Our dress code is "dressy casual". Nice but comfortable! Bonus points if you have something Nigerian to wear… If you don't, we have a gift for you at the door to add some Nigerian flare to your outfit.
Should I bring my kids?
While our Soulful Supper event layout is mostly geared towards the adults, some families enjoy involving their kids in our ministry and this event is certainly a way to do so. We recommend leaving children under 12 at home, however you know your children best and we will leave that decision up to your discretion.

What if I don't want to pay with a credit card?
GiveSmart requires a credit card in order to place a bid, however guests will be able to change their payment method at checkout if they prefer to pay with cash or check. You will also be able to change credit cards at checkout if desired.
What if I place a bid on an item unintentionally?
Accidents happen! Not to worry- guests may contact an admin (Laura, Christy, or Caleb) to remove an unintentional bid.

I didn't receive the welcome text- what should I do?
Sometimes your phone provider will flag these messages as spam. Find an A2S admin (Laura, Christy, or Caleb) or our GiveSmart expert stationed in the auction area who can remedy the issue.
