How do I participate?

You must register in GiveSmart creating an account with a password. A credit card must be associated with your account in order to participate in silent or live auction bidding.

Auction:  
1. When do the auctions close?

The silent auction will close on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 7 pm. (The night of the event. Some items may remain open after, such as group events if they are not filled.)

The live auction will close after the last item on Saturday, March 1st. It is estimated to be around 8:30pm.


2. How can I keep active and know if I am outbid or have won an item?

For the silent auction, you will be notified via text if you have been outbid. Keep an eye on your favorite items! If you are NOT receiving the text messages, make sure you have the correct mobile number under your profile. The texts will continue to notify you when you have been outbid or reached your maximum bid. When the silent auction closes, you will also receive a text message if you won any items.

For the live auction, the auctioneer will be indicating when you get a bid, when another bid is accepted and when it has been won.

 
3. Is a credit card required to participate in the auction?

Yes, a preregistered credit card is required to begin bidding.


4. What happens if I do not pay for my winning item(s)?

All balances must be paid in full before winning item(s) can be collected. Credit cards on file will be processed at a designated time if no other arrangements have been made for payment. Payment via cash or check will save on the additional fees.


5. How will I collect my item(s) I won?

Live auction winner(s) can pick up live auction certificate(s) after the event that night at Holy Family Academy, 5925 West Lake St, St. Louis Park, MN in the lower level foyer when they check out.

Silent Auction winner(s) can pick up silent auction item(s) Monday, March 3rd, 2025 in Sts. Peter and Paul room at Holy Family Academy, 5925 West Lake St, St. Louis Park, MN from 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM or by appointment. 
 

6. What happens if I do not pick up my winnings that night?

Items not picked up the night of the event will be available for pick up at the church office during office hours. Any item(s) unaccounted for after one week of auction closing will be offered to the next highest bidder or sold to another party and proceeds will go to Holy Family Catholic Church. Please communicate as to pick up of your winnings promptly. Call the church office 952.929.0113 if more information is needed.
 
Auction Legal Statement

By bidding in the Holy Family Catholic Church Auction, each bidder agrees to these auction rules:

All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted.

All items are "as is." Holy Family Auction Committee has attempted to describe and catalog items correctly but neither warrants nor represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of the items. No statement made in this online catalog, or made orally at the auction or elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty, representation or assumption of liability.

The auction item value listed is an estimate of fair market value. Items have not been appraised unless so noted. The amount you pay above this fair market value estimate is tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Please consult your tax adviser to clarify amount of deduction.

In the event of a cancellation of a group event or an auction item, the fair market value can be adjusted so that the winner receives 100% as a non-taxable donation.

Please pay careful attention to all conditions, restrictions and expiration dates on items and services. Unless otherwise noted, all auction items and services must be used within one year. No extensions on expiration will be granted. We appreciate your strict observance of these restrictions, as future donations depend upon it.

Packages containing alcohol may not be shipped and must be picked up by an individual 21+ years of age with valid ID. You must be at least 21 years old to purchase any packages containing alcohol and/or tours of alcoholic establishments (distillery, brewery, etc.).

All completed sales from this event are considered transactions solely between the purchaser and the donor of the auction item. 

The winner must pick up item(s) from Holy Family.  Should shipping be required, winner is responsible for all costs associated. Holy Family Catholic Church is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Any item(s) left unclaimed after 7 days, without prior arrangements, will be sold and proceeds will go to Holy Family Catholic Church

Holy Family Catholic Church reserves the right to add or withdraw items, without notice, to or from the auction.

Each person bidding assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising indirectly from Holy Family Catholic Church, their elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the auctioneer(s), the auction company and its agents and employees, the event organizers, sponsors and/or volunteers connected with the auction.
