Contest Rules

Contest Dates:

• Entries due: January 2, 2026 (the earlier you enter, the more time you will have to get votes)
• Public voting: December 19, 2025 - January 2, 2026
• Winner announced: January 9, 2026 - The winner will receive a $100 Visa gift card.

How to Enter:

• Create a pet inspired gingerbread house.
• Take a clear, well-lit photo of your creation.
• Complete the registration form and upload a photo before January 2, 2026.
• All entries will be posted on the event website within 24 hours of being submitted.

Entry Guidelines:

• Your creation must resemble a pet-friendly house (dog house, cat house, animal shelter, etc.).
• All structures must be made primarily from edible materials (gingerbread, cookies, candy, icing, pet food, etc.).
• Non-edible bases or supports are allowed but should not be visible in the final display.
• Entries must be the original work of the participant(s). 
  

Public Voting and Fundraising:

• The public can vote for their favorite gingerbread creation by making a $5 donation per vote to the Humane Society of Utah.
• Participants are encouraged to share their entry with family and friends to gather votes and support the fundraiser.
• Voting will close at 11:59 PM (MST) on Friday, January 2, 2026.
• The entry with the most votes will be announced as the winner on Friday, January 9, 2026, and will receive a $100 Visa gift card.

Additional Rules:

• By entering, participants grant the Humane Society of Utah permission to share submitted photos on social media and promotional materials.
• Entries deemed inappropriate or off-theme will be disqualified.
