JJ & Jarra Chatmon
JJ, a lifelong Cartersville resident, has deep roots in Bartow County. A graduate of Cartersville High School, he was a member of the 1999 Canes State Championship football team and now serves as a coach and teacher at his alma mater.
Eighteen years ago, JJ met Jarra and introduced her to his hometown. Originally from Jacksonville, FL-home of Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars-Jarra was a middle school teacher before moving to Cartersville. For the past four years, she has worked at Cartersville Middle School, first as a Family Engagement Specialist and now as a welcoming presence in the front office.
The couple is raising their children, Jamilla, Tripp, and Joshua, to carry on the Cartersville tradition of excellence. JJ and Jarra are thrilled to participate in Cartersville Dances with the Stars, supporting the impactful work of Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter and Backpack Buddies.
