1. How will I bid on silent auction items at the event?
It will all be done online on your phone! Gone are the days of having to physically hover over your favorite silent auction item and repeatedly writing your name down to make sure you always have the top bid.
At this year's party, you can browse all of the silent auction items and place bids online. There is a feature that will auto-bid for you, in set increments, up to a certain amount. If you are ever out-bid on an item, you will get an automatic text alert to prompt you to increase your bid if you'd like.
Hopefully this allows you more time to play casino games, eat, drink and mix and mingle with friends!
2. How can I bid on silent auction items if I cannot attend the event?
Can't join us? No problem! You will be able to register as a participant rather than purchase a ticket. As we get closer to the event, an option will appear for that on the home page. You will be able to browse and bid on the silent auction items just like the attendees will be doing, in real time.
3. When will the silent auction items "go live"?
We plan on making the silent auction items "live" 2 weeks before the event date. This way you can familiarize yourself with the different options, select your favorites, and begin to bid!
4. How do I sponsor Roslyn Road's Parent Party?
We have so many fantastic sponsorship opportunities this year for our event. On the home page of the event, there is a button labeled "SPONSORSHIPS". Simply click that button and all of the different sponsorship levels will be detailed and available for purchase.
5. How will I purchase chips to participate in casino play?
You will make a donation through GiveSmart to purchase casino chips. There will be a live individual acting as "the banker" at a table at the event who will verify your donation and give you the corresponding amount of chips for casino play. The banker will be available throughout the entire party, so in case you go bust, you can always make more donations!
6. Do I actually win money or prizes with my chips at the end of the night?
At the end of casino play, you will turn your chips into a dealer. They will count your chips and give you raffle tickets in exchange. Every $25 of casino chips turned in receives 1 raffle ticket. But we always round up! So $100 in chips will get 4 raffle tickets, but $101 in chips will get 5 raffle tickets.
Those raffle tickets will be placed into one big drawing for a large lottery-themed basket.
7. What do I need to do to make sure I am ready to use the GiveSmart platform for the night of the party?
Everyone will need to either purchase a ticket or register as a participant who is not attending the event. If one person buys tickets for themselves and their significant other, both individuals will need to provide their unique information, including a cell phone number. Your cell number is your unique identifier in the GiveSmart system. You will receive a text to register a credit card with your account. All purchases and donations you make on the evening of the party will be charged to that card.
Other than having logistics set up, it would also be a good idea to browse the silent auction items. It would be great to start bidding on them early (before the party), but you should at least know which ones you are going to want to try to win at the party!
