How To Register
Go to https://maauction2026.givesmart.com
Click on View Items
Select the item you'd like to bid on or purchase
Click on 'Register Now'
Enter your info
Click 'Create my Givesmart Account'
You will be logged in and directed back to the item you were viewing. You will receive an email with a personalized link to start bidding and purchasing. Please use your personalized link to access the online auction. Please make sure to enter accurate contact information when registering.
Auto-Bids
You have the option to place an auto-bid. This will automatically place a bid on your behalf up to a specified amount whenever you are outbid.
Select the "Auto Bid" tab
Input the maximum amount you are willing to pay for that item and click bid
If you are outbid, another bid will be made on your behalf up to the maximum amount that you entered. If you are outbid at any time, you will receive a text message notification and a "Losing" banner will appear across the item.
Extended Close
Heads up: this auction uses an extended close. If someone bids in the last 60 seconds, the timer resets - so keep an eye on your items right up until the end!
How to Checkout
Via Text
1. You should receive a text message congratulating you on your winnings. Click the link within that text message to be directed to your personal payment page.
2. Review your cart and select the "Click Here to Pay" button
3. You can either use the credit card information you added upon registration or enter new card information
4. Once payment is complete, a red paid stamp will be placed on your order summary
Via Home Page
1. Select the Pay Tab at the top of the event website
2. Review your purchase summary and select the "Click Here to Pay" button

Item Valuation
It is the Marin Academy's intent to describe accurately all items with the information provided by their respective generous contributors. MA does not appraise auction items; the donors have furnished all statements of value. Marin Academy has made a good-faith effort to furnish donors with accurate and sufficient information on the Internal Revenue Service's guidelines in establishing fair market value of goods and services.
1. Marin Academy is not responsible for the correct description or authenticity of any item.
2. In determining the tax deductibility of items purchased on the online auction, Revenue Ruling #67246 (issued August 4, 1988) reminds buyers that no deduction is allowable except to the extent that the taxpayer can show that the payment exceeds the fair market value at retail of the item or the service received.
3. Marin Academy reprints this information here to meet its responsibility to fully inform its supporters of the applicable tax law, but it is not responsible for the tax consequences of these transactions. Winning bidders should consult with their own advisors regarding applicable tax laws.
